Boonsboro Home Update

It has been about a month since I introduced my BOONSBORO HOME. The first post was all about the vision for the project, and now the project is in full swing. The amazing slate roof has been repaired, wallpaper was stripped, painter has been working away, and demo has begun. Some rooms are basically done, and others have a lot of work to go. Let’s look inside…

The two top photos show the old kitchen that I am converting to a laundry room/mudroom. The bottom pictures show the room directly next to the laundry room that I am making into the kitchen. Converting the formal dining room into the kitchen allows there to still be a living room and bonus room. This plan will work so much better and allow for the spaces to be maximized.

The two bedrooms (top and left photos) are basically complete, and we have already started playing around with some staging just for fun! The wall color in both of the rooms is the same (SW China Doll 7517). I love the way it turned it out because its so light and warm.

I originally painted the master bedroom fireplace a cream color, but it just didn’t feel right. So, I repainted the fireplace this dark charcoal color (SW Urbane Bronze 7048) that I love. It just adds a level of drama to the room that makes it the perfect centerpiece. The wall color is one I have used in a few rooms and I love it! (SW Repose Gray 7015)

These are two bathrooms that are going to take a lot of time to construct. The left picture shows the bathroom that is on the main floor attached to the “brick room” in the back of the house. It was a full bathroom with a stand up shower. The overall room was already dated (as you can see from some of the tiles on the wall still), but it has great potential.

The second photo shows the master bathroom. This space is attached to the master bedroom (the door is to the left of the fireplace) and we believe it was originally intended for some type of sitting room or office, or maybe even a nursery. This is the perfect space to add a very spacious bathroom. You can see the double vanity that is already coming together.

There is a third bathroom located in the hall at the top of the stairs. This bathroom is going to be a bit reconstructed, but not totally redone. We are really excited for what the end design will look like in all of these spaces. Who doesn’t love three beautiful bathrooms all updated with amazing details!

I just cannot believe how much the house has already transformed, and we haven’t even started with the bathrooms and kitchen installation! We are starting this week on the new HVAC system and duct work throughout the whole house. We will keep you updated on what is going on!
