Coffee & Collaboration with Taylor Acorn

Collaborating is one of my favorite things to do! I believe that there are two main things that come out of collaboration: education and encouragement. Having the chance to see what is going on in other’s lives gives you a new perspective. I want this to create a movement in our community of UNITY instead of competition!

“I just try to keep it simple, especially with music too. It should be about the music.” -Taylor Acorn

How We Met

Taylor and I met at a Mary Kay meeting over 5 years ago. She just thought that she was going to come to talk about some makeup, but I started talking to her about what her passions were. She told me about her love for music, I asked her to sing in front of everyone. Taylor was nervous to sing in front of everyone, but I believed in her and knew that she would do great. After Taylor finished singing, we were all blown away. I knew I had just met an amazing woman and a rising SUNFLOWER!

After that meeting, Taylor and I started running into each other everywhere. She was singing at so many different events that I was at: hotel openings, restaurants, and even opened for Chase Bryant at a country concert!

Taylor’s Journey:

Originally from Wellsboro, PA, Taylor moved to Lynchburg about 5 years ago. Her final stop is NASHVILLE, TN!

“If it wasn’t for finding my manager a year and a half ago, I would have quit. But, I know that this is what I was meant to do!” Taylor Acorn

Taylor did audition for some shows, but doors always closed. I feel like the doors that close are just meant to take us to the doors that need to be opened. Let all doors meant to slam shut do so, because the faster they do then the right opportunity will come to be!

After auditioning for The Voice, she went on to NYC and LA for auditions. But she never made it to the big stage. She feels that it was all meant to be because things are happening in other ways. One step at a time and one show booked at a time and she is going to succeed. If this is her destiny then she is has to trust with all her hard work and dedication to her music she will be a success.

Taylor’s Favorite Quote she lives by, “Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.

Taylor released “Put It In a Song” in March 2017 and wrote this song as well as her two other hits. She puts her heart and soul into her music and takes time to write the words that speak to her heart! She went to Nashville to make her very first of many music videos with Casey Cross and his team. Taylor says, “they were so delightful and easy to work for and she felt like she could be herself.”

BUY THE ROMPER ON POSHMARK

After the Collaboration I decided it would be fun to let Taylor do a quick style session with me as her stylist and with all my Soul Sister Boutique Vintage finds. I have been saving this Vintage Romper for a photoshoot but realized in Collaboration you allow others to shine and so it was a perfect opportunity to allow her to shine in the hottest romper ever. I think this will be a perfect COVER photo for a CD she releases one day! I also have the best wheat field to take photos at in my backyard and an incredible photographer who took these photos.

This Vintage Dress is also available and what an amazing piece it is as well!
